Distinguished Gentleman's Ride Hits $1 Million Mark

Supporters of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) have successfully raised over $1 Million for prostate cancer research three days prior to the 3rd annual global ride, which takes place on September 28, 2014, in 254 cities. This fundraising goal is a major milestone for the DGR, which credits its success to each city organizer, numerous volunteers and riders that have donated their time and effort to the cause.

“We’ve come a long way in short amount of time. To think that on Sunday people will be riding in over 50 countries in support of our event and our goal to help fight prostrate cancer makes me very proud,” said event founder Mark Hawwa. “I am continually astounded by the efforts of all those involved. Whether it be the fundraising, the outfits, or the bikes, everyone brings the highest level of commitment to this cause.”

The worldwide Australian-born, dapper-themed fundraiser seeks to raise awareness for prostate cancer research that affects more than 14.1 million men worldwide. It’s an international event for classics, café racers, bobbers, trackers, customs, modern classics, classic scooters and undefinable 2/3 wheeled machines.

As the global sponsor for the event, Triumph Motorcycles Ltd. expresses its profound delight and congratulations to all those involved in the DGR.

“It is a fantastic achievement for the DGR,” says Matt Sheahan, Chief Operating Officer for Triumph Motorcycles America. “There has and continues to be a hugely positive response from riders and fans of motorcycling from around the world. Triumph is incredibly proud to support the DGR and be involved with its success.”

With only three days left until the DGR, there is still time to register for a ride and donate. Donations for the cause will continue through October 12, 2014.
