The vintage motorcycle event Riding Into History will return to World Golf Village near St. Augustine, Florida, on May 16-17, 2014, for its 15th annual event. Television personlaity Dave Despain, considered the voice of motorcycle racing, will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal, and Marina Alley is returning as the first woman to serve as Chair of the event.
The weekend will feature the Concours d’Elegance, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, with charity rides to the event leaving from Adamec Harley Davidson and BMW Motorcycles of Jacksonville. The Grand Marshal’s Historic Lunch Ride, led by Dave Despain, and the Grand Marshals’ Dinner at the Legends Grill in the WGV, featuring a talk by Despain, will be held on Friday.
Between 350 and 400 antique, vintage and classic motorcycles from all over the country are expected to enter the Concours, which this year honors American Iron. Thousands of spectators are expected to attend the event, which also includes exhibitors, entertainment, clubs and a variety of food. Admission is $10 at the gate for the Concours.
All of the proceeds from Riding Into History will benefit the Ponte Vedra based charity, K9s for Warriors, k9sforwarriors.org. To date, Riding Into History has raised over $300,000 for charity.
Internationally known motorcycle artist Don Bradley will provide the original artwork for the posters, which have become collectors’ items. Posters, T-shirts and other items are available at ridingintohistory.org and at the event.
