Moto Guzzi V7 Racer Limited Edition – First Look

Moto Guzzi V7 RacerFancy an old-school cafe racer but don’t have the time, intestinal fortitude or English wheel to build one from scratch? Well, Moto Guzzi will happily sell you one of these just-released, limited-edition V7 Racer models for $9,790. Seems a very appropriate way to celebrate the Mandello del Lario company’s 90th anniversary. Stay tuned as we’re currently trying to pry one away from Moto Guzzi for a test.

Highlights of the V7 Racer:

* The V7 Racer is powered by the same fuel-injected, 744cc, 90-degree V-Twin engine as the V7 Classic.
* A red frame inspired by the earliest V7 Sport models, paired with matching red hubs and swingarm.
* The black fuel tank matches the front and rear fenders, seat cover and wheels.
* The fuel tank is finished with a leather strap that runs along the center of the tank.
Moto Guzzi V7 Racer* Aluminum side covers, throttle body covers and muffler bracket.
* Silver wire spoke wheels and black rims highlight the red wheel hubs.
* Suede solo saddle.
* Custom billet aluminum adjustable rearsets.
* 40mm Marzocchi front fork with rubber bellows.
* Fully adjustable, twin Bitubo remote reservoir rear shocks.

  1. Looks great.
    What we NEED is the engine from the new Norge in a V7 Sport and / or V7 Classic styled package.
    I’m waiting….

  2. Just got my V7 racer today. Rode it over 110km in town and some highway. Wow, the gearbox just wouldn’t shift at first, she loosened up after a few km and is now very nice. Throw from 1st to 2nd is a bit long, but not excessive, gears shift effortlessly and actually pretty well. Clutch needs some getting used to, but is ery easy once you figure it out.
    Rear end seems to hold up pretty good, but front end doesn’t like to be ‘thrown’ into a corner, but when handled gently, she doesn’t mind going fast thru S bends. As many have critisized the front brake, I don’t think it is too bad, nothing fantastic, but gets the job done! -maybe I heard so many negative reviews of it, I’m just happy it performs ok. Engine is wonderful, smooth and torque delivery is linear.
    I LOVE it!
    Exhaust note is already better, so much that I may keep the stock slip-ons so I can enjoy the mechanical orchestra reving under me. The engine is ‘present’, and that’s a good thing!
