The 2026 Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT are two new retro-inspired naked bikes that combine classic style with modern technology and features. These two bikes are expected to arrive in dealerships later this summer.

The only difference between the 8T and the 8TT is that the 8TT includes a factory-designed headlight cowl, an undercowl, and a different seat to invoke a vintage roadracer appearance. All other features are shared between the 8T and 8TT. Using the theme of “retro spirit, next generation performance,” the bikes include a mono round LED headlight inspired by Suzuki models of the 1960s and ’70s, bar-end mirrors (a first for Suzuki), and a uniquely shaped 4.3-gallon fuel tank.

These two bikes are equipped with bar-end mirrors.

They’re powered by the 776cc parallel-Twin also found in the GSX-8R and GSX-8S. They include a 270-degree crankshaft, the Suzuki Cross Balancer, a 6-speed transmission, and the Suzuki Clutch Assist System. The Suzuki Intelligent Ride System includes Suzuki Drive Mode Selector, Suzuki Traction Control System (three settings plus Off), Bi-Directional Quick Shift System, ABS, Suzuki Easy Start System, and Low RPM Assist. These bikes are also Suzuki’s first U.S. models to be equipped with a lithium-ion battery, as they include a compact HY battEliiy P-Series starter battery.

Both the 8T and 8TT feature a stainless steel muffler cover.

The 8T and 8TT feature a steel frame and a unique aluminum swingarm. KYB suspension includes a nonadjustable inverted fork and a preload-adjustable link-type rear shock. Cast-aluminum wheels are wrapped in Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tires, and dual radial-mount front brake calipers pinch 310mm discs. The tapered aluminum handlebar contributes to an upright riding position. The 8T gets a retro-inspired tuck-and-roll seat, and the 8TT’s seat adds stitched upholstery. Instrumentation includes a 5-inch full-color TFT display, and a USB-C socket is included to charge your devices.

  1. I think these two additions are huge for Suzuki, going to give us Riders some beautiful alternatives to the retros from Kawasaki and Yamaha. For me, it’s the naked one, the GSX-8T. That engine is optimal for this type of bike, a Neo-Retro. It’s got more character than the 180 degree crank Kawasaki Z650RS and more power/torque. It’s got a more accessible seat height than the Kawi Z900RS, 32.0” vs 32.9.” It looks better than the heritage Yamaha’ XSR’s 700 and 900. Suzuki is finally going to shake things up in the retro bike segment. Great job Suzuki, my favorite Japanese brand!

  2. The big question now is what’s going to be the price? I’ve heard that they’re not going to be cheap, but expected. Most retros are more expensive than their derivative naked bikes that they’re based off of. Whatever the price, these new bikes are going to sell. Other than hitting Kawasaki and Yamaha, I think lots of people that were thinking about getting a modern classic Triumph will go the Suzuki route now for something with more power and sportier. Love the competition!

  3. Finally a sporty type bike where the rear end doesnt look like it was rear ended by a car. It will be fun to see the ride review. I believe the 8TT has a little lower lip on the fairing like an older GS1000S?….

  4. As a certified old guy, I approve of these designs. It’s what a proper motorcycle should look like, if you were born many decades ago. Unfortunately, people my age are dropping out of the market, but I hope makers of retro styled bikes find buyers.

    • There’s enough older guys out there that still ride, no doubt that these two Suzuki’s will sell very well. I hope the retro trend expands to where manufacturers offer more than two models in their lineup.

  5. If you’re a fan of this style motorcycle, neo-retro, be on the lookout for the rumored new Honda CB1000F. It uses the same engine as the newly released Honda CB1000 Hornet SP and it looks more retro than the Suzuki GSX-8T due to its classic styled exhaust muffler plus other parts. A real beauty aesthetically!

    • Wow, good catch. Suzuki’s press materials and website say the GSX-8T and TT “the first Suzuki motorcycle to adopt handlebar end mirrors” (https://suzukicycles.com/street/2026/gsx-8t#features).

But we found a Cycle World test of the 1980 Suzuki GS450S (July 1980 issue) and it shows bar-end mirrors (https://magazine.cycleworld.com/article/1980/7/1/suzuki-gs450s). We quote (from page 63): “With the S version you get a nifty little bikini fairing, not much wider than the headlight or higher than the instruments, shaped like a bullet. Mirrors are bar end numbers.”

    • Suzuki didn’t specifically say that these models were the first with bar end mirrors, actual quote from the Suzuki website is this – “The GSX-8T debuts Suzuki’s first handlebar end mirrors that combine a classic look with refined functionality. Positioned at the bar ends, they reduce interference with the rider’s body while contributing to a more open forward field of view and an improved rearward view.”

They are the first that combine classic look with refinement (first to be modernized).

        • You’re looking under KEY FEATURES, which is just an overview. You have to look under CHASSIS FEATURES for more detail on the bar end mirrors. That’s where my quote came from. That’s where they word it properly.

          • The CHASSIS FEATURES section says the same thing in a different way: “The GSX-8T debuts Suzuki’s first handlebar end mirrors.” Seems pretty clear the point they are making, though it doesn’t seem to align with Suzuki’s model history.

  6. Like the styling, as a 60 yr old it definitely brings back memories. Found this info though, wth Suzuki?

    TotalMotorcycle.com – “Pricing and availability
The GSX-8T and GSX-8TT will come with an OTR price of £9,599 and £9,999 respectively and will be arriving in dealerships in the coming weeks. Both come with Suzuki’s standard three-year warranty plus up to seven-years extended warranty, activated by regular servicing at an authorised Suzuki dealership.”

Standard 3 yr warranty?? Extended warranty activated by regular servicing at authorized dealer? So we here in the USA get a measly 1 yr warranty while other countries get 3 yr? Pbbbbbbb…

  7. I’m seriously interested in the 8TT model in that Green color ! Recently sold one of my stable so I have room and cash ! Hope they come to CANADA soon ! Bring um on Suzook )).
