We review the all-new 2021 Ducati Multistrada V4 S, a high-tech, high-performance adventure bike powered by the new 1,158cc 90-degree V4 Grandturismo engine that makes 170 horsepower at 10,500 rpm and 92 lb-ft torque at 8,750 rpm (claimed).

The Multistrada continues with its “four bikes in one” concept, with four riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro) that alter power, throttle response, a full suite of IMU-enable electronics, and Marzocchi Skyhook semi-active suspension.

The 2021 Ducati Multistrada V4 S also has industry-first front and rear radars that provide data for the Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection systems. With a base price of $24,095 and an as-tested price of $28,182 (Travel + Radar Packs, an Akrapovic silencer, engine guards, Pirelli Scorpion Rally tires, wire-spoke wheels and an enduro windscreen), the Multistrada V4 S is one of the most expensive ADV motorcycles on the market.

Road Test Editor Nic de Sena tested the 2021 Ducati Multistrada V4 S on the roads and trails near Borrego Springs, California.
