MSF Ride Day Events: Free Courses for New and Experienced Riders

MSF Ride Day Events
The MSF Ride Day events invite new and experienced riders to try out riding or improve their skills for free.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation is well-known for its Basic RiderCourse, which teaches new riders the basics of operating a motorcycle so they can get their motorcycle endorsement and continue learning on their own. With the new MSF Ride Day events, aspiring riders can hop on a bike and get rolling within 30 minutes for free.

Taking place in 14 states, MSF Ride Day events offer MOTO Intro courses and Skills Check courses. In the MOTO Intro courses, first-time riders are invited to learn the basics of motorcycle operation on a closed-course environment. Gear, bikes, and coaches are provided for free. By the end of the 30-minute course, new riders should be able to start, stop, shift into 1st gear, and ride a loop around the oval track.

The Skills Check course is designed for experienced riders to get coaching on their techniques.

The Skills Check course gives experienced riders a chance for coaches to provide suggestions and answer questions. The Skills Check course includes a more complicated track with tight turns and figure-eights. These courses are also provided free, but riders will need to bring their own motorcycle and gear.

The MOTO Intro course provides a low-stress and low-commitment way for those interested to try out a motorcycle without having to register and pay for a full Basic RiderCourse. The Skills Check courses are a great opportunity for riders to improve their riding without needing to pay the high coast of other skills courses. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation makes Ride Day events possible by partnering with dealers and riding schools across the country.
