First unveiled two years ago with limited details, the 2025 Can-Am Pulse electric streetbike and 2025 Can-Am Origin electric dual-sport are now officially available to preorder at select Can-Am dealers. These two bikes, which share a Rotax electric motor, mark Can-Am’s return to the two-wheeled world and join the company’s on-road three-wheelers in a growing product lineup.

While these two motorcycles differ in key ways to suit particular terrain, their heart is the same. They’re powered by an 11-kW Rotax motor and an 8.9-kWh battery. The motor has a claimed output of 47 hp and 53 lb-ft of torque, claimed to get from 0-60 mph in as little as 3.8 seconds and deliver a top speed of 80 mph. The liquid-cooling system cools the battery, inverter, on-board charger, and motor and is said to limit battery degradation over time and optimize range and charge time compared to an air-cooled battery.

These two bikes also benefit from both passive and active regenerative braking, which recovers energy while shedding speed. Both passive and active regen are adjustable in the settings to Off, Min, or Max. The bikes also get a reverse function to make backing up easier.

The Pulse and Origin can use Level 1 or 2 charging.

Can-Am’s new electric bikes come with a 6.6 kW charger and Level 1 and 2 charging capabilities, and the claimed charging time from 20-80% is 50 minutes. It doesn’t have Level 3 DCFC charging like the LiveWire One. The Can-Am Origin has an estimated range of 90 miles of city riding and 71 miles of combined city/highway riding, while the Pulse has an estimated city range of 100 miles and an estimated combined range of 80 miles.

Also shared between the Pulse and Origin is a large 10.25-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and over-the-air software updates. Through the company’s app, riders can access vehicle information like battery level, estimated range left, vehicle location, and estimated time to full charge.

  1. I don’t get it, they’ve been teasing these things for years and still at least 6 months out for delivery. I don’t see anything that is special or cutting edge and more subjectively nothing appealing in the looks department. A 400 lb dual sport are you kidding?
