The freedom-loving American badass Kid Rock is no stranger to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. His last performance at the Chip in 2021 was a success, and he got a huge number of requests for a return engagement. Rallygoers will again get to hear Kid Rock at the Chip on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024.
In other Buffalo Chip news, the Chip will be attending various bike shows from January to June to award the “Spirit of the Chip” recognition for “the motorcycle of any category that we’d be excited to ride through the Black Hills ourselves.” Winners will receive two tickets to the 2024 rally, as well as a guitar trophy.

The first two bands announced for 2024 happen to also be the top two requested bands from the fans! Get ready to Rock ‘N Roll! The Sturgis Rally’s 2nd top requested act for 2024, Kid Rock, will perform on the Wolfman Jack Main Stage on Thursday, Aug. 8!
The epitome of the ‘90s country superstardom, and Class of ’89 Big 4 country artist, Travis Tritt, will rock the house Sunday, Aug. 4. The very next night, country-rock icon Aaron Lewis brings the “Country Club” to the 2024 Sturgis Rally crowd.

Sturgis Buffalo Chip On The Road
The Sturgis Buffalo Chip has been the center ring for the Black Hills Motorcycle Rally activity for over four decades. We have thrown the Best Party Anywhere and hosted millions of riding and music fans over the years. Although we strive to throw the biggest event we can host, we’re inclined to join other great parties when we can!
The Chip will hit a series of motorcycle shows this year leading up to the big rally, all in an effort to expand our presence along with the presence of those who support us. We look forward to visiting with our friends and guests all around the region as we hit events from January through June.
At each event, The Chip will host a display featuring sweepstakes and opportunities to win free passes. In addition, Woody and the staff will pick out a series of “Spirit of the Chip” Awards. The award is given to the motorcycle of any category that we’d be excited to ride through the Black Hills ourselves. It’s a “Gut Check” award that reflects our enthusiasm for all types of bikes and styles, with the winner receiving two passes for the Chip’s motorcycle and music festival in 2024 as well as a uniquely customized guitar trophy that speaks to the rock ‘n’ roll heart of our event.
