‘Motorcycle Symphony’ Promotes This Year’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

motorcycle symphonyIn a world’s first, Dutch creative agency SuperHeroes Amsterdam and musician Dominic Seldis have created what can only be called a “motorcycle symphony,” promoting this year’s worldwide Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.

Dominic Seldis of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam came up with the idea to recreate Richard Strauss’ symphony “Also Sprach Zarathustra” with the tones of various motorcycle exhaust pipes.

Together with sound engineer Hielke Praagman, Seldis recreated the arrangement with everything from high-pitched (relatively) cafe racers to rumbling choppers. The riders who volunteered with their bikes became classical musicians.

The unique symphony is being used to promote the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, which takes place worldwide every September and aims to raise awareness for the Movember Foundation, a fundraising organization that focuses on men’s health issues like prostrate cancer and mental health issues like suicide.
