After more than a year of speculation, Indian has finally confirmed that it will indeed be bringing the FTR 1200 to market. Inspired by its winning FTR750 flat track racer and the teaser FTR1200 Custom concept bike, all we know so far is that the FTR 1200 will be powered by a new V-twin engine housed in a trellis frame, with a flat track inspired look.
Indian made the announcement at the annual Wheels & Waves event in France, where an early production FTR 1200 was shown behind closed doors to a select group of industry VIPs. Given that Indian also chose to unveil the FTR1200 Custom in Europe, at EICMA in 2017, it appears that while flat trackers are a distinctly American design, Indian is anticipating considerable European interest.
Back on this side of the Atlantic, riders in the U.S. and Canada can enter a sweepstakes to win one of the first FTR 1200s off the assembly line. To enter, click here.
