According to an article published on March 23, 2015, on the Rapid City Journal‘s website, Lehman Trikes will soon move out of its facility in Spearfish, South Dakota.
Lehman Trikes has been manufacturing trike conversions for Honda, Harley-Davidsons and other motorcycle brands since 1993, and it has been based in Spearfish since 2008. Following the death of company founder John K. Lehman in January 2012, the company briefly ceased operations. Champion Investments Inc., owner of Champion Trikes, bought Lehman Trikes in June 2012 and resumed operations soon thereafter, still under the Lehman name.
According to the article, Craig L. Arrojo, CEO of Champion Investments Inc. and Champion Trikes, said that costs and logistics related to expansion into Asian markets prompted the decision to move. Lehman Trikes will be relocated to the Champion Trikes facility in Garden Grove, California.
