Ozarks Motomarathon Set for May 29-June 1, 2014

The Motomarathon Association has announced the first 2014 event of its unique long-distance motorcycle sport-touring season with a spring ride in the Ozark Mountains.

From May 29 through June 1, the Ozarks Motomarathon will loop out of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, with routes designed by Tracy Brasuell of Butler Motorcycle Maps. “The Ozarks represent another American riding region that’s on the ‘bucket list’ of many expert sport-touring motorcyclists,” said Motomarathon Founder John Metzger.

The Ozarks Motomarathon will headquarter out of the Traveler’s Inn, 2044 E. Van Buren St., Eureka Springs, AR 72632 (call 479-363-6664 and ask for Motomarathon group rates) all four days. The initial rider’s meeting takes place the evening of May 28 at 8 p.m. at the hotel where Day 1 routes will be handed out. There is a $50 fee per rider, and participants are responsible for their own accommodations, meals and gas.

Motomarathon routes and checkpoints are kept secret until the night before each day’s ride. Participants complete a series of self-recorded checkpoints using digital cameras to photograph their badge numbers at designated landmarks.
