Just two years after its launch as part of Triumph’s lineup of modern classics powered by its liquid-cooled 900cc High Torque parallel twin, the Street Scrambler is getting several performance updates, as well as a handful of design changes.

Big news is a 10-horsepower bump in power, for a claimed peak of 65, and a 500-rpm higher redline, now at 7,500. The 59 lb-ft claimed peak torque is delivered at just 3,200 rpm for optimum real-world performance.
Engine updates also include a new magnesium cam cover, a new lightweight crankshaft, dead shafts and balance shafts, a new mass-optimized clutch cover and a new lighter torque-assist clutch. It also gets a new Brembo 4-piston front brake caliper and a new cartridge-style fork with more widely-spaced stanchions for a more aggressive stance.
New technology updates include Road and Rain riding modes, which adjust the throttle map and traction control but not power output. Traction control and ABS are both switchable.
The Street Scrambler underwent a minor style refresh to go along with its new performance enhancements. The number plate-style side panel now has new graphics and a more contemporary logo, the analog/LCD dial has a new bezel and dial face, and the seat has new materials.
As a perfect base for customization, the Street Scrambler can be accessorized with more than 120 items including luggage, adjustable FOX rear shocks, a high mudguard, a headlight grill or a handlebar brace.
Triumph has also announced a new inspiration kit as a starting point for riders to create their own look. The Urban Tracker kit adds a pannier, slip-on Vance & Hines muffler, black ribbed bench seat, engine guards, a high mudguard and more.
The 2019 Street Scrambler will be available in three colors, Fusion White, Cranberry Red or Khaki Green and Matte Aluminum with a black coach line. MSRP is $11,000 and the bike should arrive in dealers in January 2019.
