Without the weight of a passenger, a sidecar can be dangerously unstable, so I volunteered for Sherpa duty and carried all the tools, extra water, extra fuel and gear for our three-person riding group.
Almost every rider I encountered on the LA-Barstow-Vegas ride was friendly and encouraging. Most gave me a thumbs-up, joyous whoop or wave as they passed. Others, like this rider, found me at a gas station stop to offer me some of his family’s leftover Thanksgiving turkey (his wife was following the ride in their vehicle).
I don’t think I’ve ever been so glad to arrive in Las Vegas.
