Without the weight of a passenger, a sidecar can be dangerously unstable, so I volunteered for Sherpa duty and carried all the tools, extra water, extra fuel and gear for our three-person riding group.
Adventure riding in the desert is no joke; it's best to be prepared. Wear a hydration pack so you can sip water throughout the day, without stopping. Wear goggles if your helmet accepts them; dust will blow under your chin bar and coat your face shield. Carry extra fuel, food, a first-aid kit and emergency supplies. Even if you don't need them, you might run across someone who does!
