At my back is the Hood Canal, and I am looking up the Hamma Hamma River toward Mount Bretherton in the Olympic National Park.
This old gas station on the western edge of the Olympic National Park has been recycled into a tourist shop, selling locally made souvenirs.
That is 11,245-foot Mount Hood on a fairly hazy day; lots of people try to get to the summit every year, but it's a technical climb, not a simple hike.
