The See Motor Coffee Co. may be part of the vast See See Motorcycles “empire,” but you couldn’t ask for a less pretentious hangout if you tried. The coffee house-cum-custom motorcycle shop dreamed up by Thor Drake as a place to base his See See Motorcycles brand and build a motorcycle community upon, may be off the beaten path, but it’s worth the trip.

See See ain’t your average coffee shop; there’s a huge helmet display with dozens of custom and hand-painted lids taking up most of the back wall.

Tucked into an old stucco building in the industrial east side of town, the cafe area serves up excellent local Stumptown coffee and pastries in a warm welcoming atmosphere, surrounded by artwork, helmets and hard parts, all casually displayed around the room. That helmet wall is pretty impressive with a dizzying display of arty lids, some from See See-sponsored racers (like close buddy, awesome racer and co-idea man Drake McElroy), and all featured in at least one One Show in the past.

Step into the cozy retail moto area and you’ll see a compact and tightly curated assortment of clothing, helmets, hard parts and tools, with brands like Icon, Biltwell, Poler, RSD and others. Check out the racks for some new moto gear or just grab a magazine and kick back with a latte—it’s all definitely good.
