Can-Am Announces it’s 2016 Spyder Lineup With New F3-T and F3 Limited Models

Can-Am just announced its 2016 Spyder roadster lineup this fine Friday evening at a live global dealer event in Nashville, Tennessee. The 2016 three-wheeled lineup includes a new F3-T and F3 Limited, as well as the F3-S Special Series and the F3 Limited Special Series. The entire F3 lineup features a cruising riding position, low center of gravity and performance-calibrated Vehicle Stability System that provides dynamic handling and great cornering, as well as a Rotax 1330 ACE In-Line 3-cylinder engine.

All Spyder F3 models also feature the exclusive UFit system, allowing both male and female riders to customize an exact fit based on their height and preferred riding style. Choose from five footpeg positions and five handlebar options.

The Spyder F3 features a semi-automatic or manual 6-speed transmission, Stability Control, Traction Control and Anti-Lock Brakes, Dynamic Power Steering, UFit System, High-Performance Brembo Braking System, Fox Podium Shocks, Anti-Theft System, 6.5 gallons (24.4 L) of cargo space and 6-spoke Metallic Silver front wheels. It comes in Steel Black Metallic with a starting retail price of $19,499.

The Spyder F3-S adds: distinctive “S” trim signature; machined, Deep Black high gloss front wheels; Black suede seat with Red stitching; refined front fenders with LED lights; and cruise control. It comes in Pearl White, Pure Magnesium Metallic with Can-Am Red Frame, or Can-Am Red Solid Gloss for $20,999.

The F3 and F3-S have a chopped rear fender option with a sleek, short fender to show off the massive F3 rear tire.

The 2016 Can-Am Spyder F3-S Special Triple Black Series adds exclusive Triple Black coloration and graphics, Black Chrome 6-spoke front wheels, special series signature seat and an optional Urban Rack. It’s available in new Monolith Black Satin/Steel Black Metallic and Black Chrome starting at $23,549.

New for 2016, the Spyder F3-T and F3 Limited are loaded with comfort and convenience features. Both models feature extra cargo space for longer rides and are trailer ready. The F3-T includes integrated hard side luggage for a total vehicle cargo capacity of 78 liters, a convenience console including glove box, tinted windshield and integrated rear-view mirror, Big-Bore Twin-Tube Damper Shock Absorbers, manually-adjustable rear air suspension and a premium color digital gauge. There is an optional audio system with four speakers and a USB port. The F3-T comes in Pearl White, Steel Black Metallic, Pure Magnesium Metallic and new Intense Red Pearl starting at $23,099.

The F3 Limited adds an audio system with four speakers and a USB port, rider heated grips, rider footboards, limited trim signature, limited seat, Shamrock Chrome front wheels and additional pieces in Chrome. It comes in Pearl White, Steel Black Metallic, or Intense Red Pearl starting at $27,249.

The F3-T and F3 Limited both have a trailer hitch option designed specifically for the Can-Am Freedom Trailer.

The F3 Limited Special Triple Black Series is available in limited quantities and with the SE6 Transmission only. It includes all Spyder F3 Limited features plus exclusive Triple Black coloration and graphics, Black Chrome 6-spoke front wheels and a special series signature seat. Available in Monolith Black Satin/Steel Black Metallic and Black Chrome for $27,249.

Returning to the Can-AM lineup is the Spyder RT, with a USB port and a Garmin 600 GPS now standard. The 2016 model is the first time the Spyder RT will be available in Blue with the 1330 engine, and a Spyder RT Special Series will also be offered in limited production. The bike has an adjustable driver backrest option with new tilt adjustment and 15-inch Bonneville Dish Wheels, which provide a retro look.

The Spyder ST has upgraded color options for 2016 and new Black Chrome 6-blade spoke front wheels. The Spyder RS has upgraded color options, new “Gold Wheat” coloration trims, Black Chrome 6-blade spoke front wheels and a signature “S” seat.

  1. When these bikes first came out I thought immediately ” What a great concept”. The interest in riding a Can Am is something i hope to do one day here in Australia. I ride a 150cc scooter at present but love the idea behind these Spyder 3 wheeled machines. Just curious, would Can Am likely get into the LAMS market with a max 660cc engine for the riders restricted to that category of bike? I would realise that power to weight ratio may be a problem but i really do think since you started with the Rotax 990 that 660 could be done. Just my thoughts. Also would a semi off road version been discussed. Great machine though.
