Hot on the heels of its popular FZ-09, Yamaha will add a new FZ-07 to its lineup for 2015. Designed to appeal to experienced and entry-level riders alike, the FZ-07 is powered by an all-new, liquid-cooled 689cc parallel twin with a “Crossplane” 270-degree crankshaft that should give it some nice pulse feel as well as torquey performance. The twin makes a claimed 74 horsepower and 50 lb-ft of torque.

A 41mm fork and link-type single shock handle suspension duties (5.1 inches of travel front and rear), and the triple disc brakes feature wave-style 282mm dual discs with opposed 4-piston calipers in front.

At an EPA-estimated 58 mpg, Yamaha says the FZ-07 will achieve a 200-mile range from the 3.7-gallon tank. Seat height is 31.7 inches.

The 2015 FZ-07 will come in Rapid Red, Liquid Graphite or Pearl White with an MSRP of $6,990. According to Yamaha, the FZ-07 will be in dealerships this month (June).

  1. the yamaha fz-07,finally a bike people can live with. i grew up with motorcycles without beaks and a 20 thousand dollar price, got along just fine. sick of seeing the bmw gsw on every cover stating its the best. it should be! out the door at 22 grand? so much for going on an adventure. my aging kawasaki zrx is in need of replacement and the yamaha looks like the trick. can’t wait to see one. good job yamaha ith fz-09 and now the fz-07. hope others follow and break the new trends. would love to ride up to starbucks on this one.
