8th Annual Barber Vintage Festival Kicks Off This Weekend

The 8th Annual Barber Vintage Festival presented by Triumph Dealers of North America returns to the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, this weekend (Oct. 12-14, 2012). The nation’s fastest growing celebration of vintage bikes will offer on- and off–track racing, as well as many other activities dedicated to the history and preservation of motorcycles.

The American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) will be competing throughout the weekend, including Road Racing, Trials, Cross-Country and Motocross. In addition to the racing action, the Barber Vintage Festival will also feature activities for fans of all ages. Among them are the World Famous Barber Swap Meet with more than 400 vendors, America’s First Federal Credit Union Fan Zone, American Motor Drome’s “Wall of Death” Stunt Show, Aeroshell Aerobatic Air Show, and a Century Race, featuring motorcycles made before 1911.

The event also includes several vintage bike shows, the Nick and Ernie Stunt Show, and Victoria’s Circus.

This year’s event also features a new hospitality ticket option. The “Ace Corner” is located trackside atop turn 17, and fans with the upgraded ticket will have the opportunity to hang out at the legendary Ace Café, as well as purchase hot food, cold beer and wine. Attractions will include Café Racer TV, Dime City Cycles and other vendors, a biker build-off, motorcycle parking and a Saturday night band party.

Throughout the weekend, kids 12 and under receive free general admission when accompanied by a ticketed adult. For additional information and to purchase tickets or camping, visit www.barbermotorsports.com.

Adding to the weekend activities, the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum will feature extended hours, special displays and technical seminars. Tickets to the Museum are available separately from Barber Vintage Festival tickets and can be purchased inside.
