  1. it could be the main reason for the increase in sales is the dealer incentives that for some of the bikes have carried over from 2016. I myself took advantage of some pretty aggressive incentives when I bought a new k1300s at the end of September. If not for the incentives I was ready to leave the bmw brand and get a zx14 even though it was a little more bike then I wanted and not as well suited for sport touring as the k1300 but at the time the zx14 had a 1000 dollar rebate and was already 1400 dollars less then the base model k1300. And it was cheaper to buy the k3 interest wise then to use the “Sign and Ride” lease program that they offer. I have all but paid off the interest charges after 3 payments and am now paying the principle off. should BMW wish to continue to enjoy increase sales then they will have to continue to make it worth it to riders outside the regular market.
