When Triumph completely redesigned its Bonneville lineup last year, it added liquid cooling its iconic parallel-twin engine platform and offered it in three Euro4-compliant variants: a 900cc “high torque” version for the Street Twin, a 1,200cc “high torque” version for the Bonneville T120 and T120 Black, and a 1,200cc “high power” version for the Thruxton and Thruxton R. The five models also got new chassis, modern features and enhanced styling.

For 2017, Triumph has introduced the Bonneville T100 and T100 Black, which are powered by the same 900cc parallel twin from the Street Twin but have the more classic styling of the T120s.

It has also unveiled a fourth 900cc model, a café racer called the Street Cup that features dropped ‘Ace’ handlebars with bar-end mirrors, a flyscreen, a bullet seat with removable cowl and racing-inspired two-tone paint. Ergonomics are geared toward sport riding—compared to the Street Twin the rider sits slightly higher and further back and the handlebar position is lower and more forward—but the low, 30.7-inch seat height should inspire confidence for riders of all sizes. The Street Cup has a unique chassis designed for neutral, predictable handling, with longer rear shocks that raise ride height and steepen the steering angle. It’s equipped with a new Nissin 2-piston sliding front caliper and floating disc, and ABS is standard.
The liquid-cooled, 900cc, 270-degree-crank “high torque” parallel twin has throttle-by-wire, switchable traction control, a torque-assist clutch and a 5-speed transmission. Special shorter and lighter dual exhausts with satin black and stainless steel upswept silencers are tuned to deliver a raw, rich soundtrack.
Like its Street Twin stablemate, the Street Cup rolls on cast aluminum wheels, but it has sporty fork protectors instead of the Twin’s classic gaiters. Most of the Street Cup’s drivetrain is finished in black, and it has several café racer features borrowed from the Thruxton, including twin gauges with polished stainless steel bezels, Thruxton R-style footpegs and forged headlight mounts with a painted headlight bowl and bezel.
Styling details include hand-applied coach lines on the tank, pinstriped wheels, gold-colored engine badges, unique decals and Triumph tank badges, black bullet turn signals and an LED taillight. Two-tone color options include Racing Yellow and Silver Ice with Jet Black coach lines and Racing Yellow wheel pinstripes (shown) or Jet Black and Silver Ice with Gold coach lines and wheel pinstripes.
The analog speedometer and tachometer have inset LCD screens that provide a wealth of info, including gear position, odometer, dual tripmeters, service indicator, fuel level, range to empty, average and current fuel consumption, clock and traction control settings. Under the seat is a USB socket for charging devices. More than 120 accessories are available, including cruise control, heated grips, fully adjustable Fox shocks, Vance & Hines mufflers and more.
