  1. I am looong time MotoGuzzi fan. Simply one of the best cruising bikes in the world, up there, and today better than my Harley RK or my own Indian Vintage. I also have a 1946 Indian Bonneville Chief. At at the same prices as HD and Indian, this is a good buy for this much bike. My first V7 sport, and then a MotoGuzzi Lemans II in their day were unbeatable bikes. One of these California Specials (there are a few different models, this is a new demo type) will probably be my next bike. Those “red” heads are different, would go black, but you could call the bike Barbarosa instead of Flying Fortress. Those heads keep the engine so cool, you can put your hand on the top of the head at the highway speeds and it is just warm. In the cold country, those cylinders keep your legs warm, and in summer no issues. These bikes are pure joy to ride and this one has everything. (90 hp, 700+ lbs) still more power to weight ratio than most bikes, but the handling and braking are simply superior. Made in Mandelo del Lario Italy on Lake Como in the north (above Monza !). I have been to the factory, their wind tunnel (they were the first to ever use one), and roof top race track.
MotoGuzzi is one of the OLDEST continuous motorcycle companies in Italy. The idea of the sideways engine and shaft drive came the the WWII Indian motorcycles made for the desert in WWII !!! Although Guzzi was famous for winning road races all over Europe in the 20’s, 30’s and 40″ before. In the 60’s they made the world famous V8 – 500cc racing motorcycle. It scared the crap out of all the drivers but it won quite a few races. Go Guzzi.
In Europe you can choose the Duck (Ducati for high performance) or the Goose (for everything else!).
