The race finished on Saturday, September 20, when 24 of the original 100+ riders reached Tacoma, Washington. Mike Carson finished 6th, Jon Neumann 15th, and David Lloyd 30th. The engine on Buck Carson’s 1936 Harley RL blew up for the second time last week, and with no parts available, he was forced to park the machine. But he didn’t want to miss the grand finale of the Cannonball, so he pushed his machine 1.5 miles from the dealership to the museum so it could join the other bikes on display for a large crowd of spectators. Organizers said Buck arrived winded, but happy to have completed the last leg of Cannonball 2014.

“Our final hotel was the Murano in Tacoma,” said Felicia Morgan, Cannonball Media Relations. “We had the Grand finish banquet at the hotel, the only time those bikes were left unattended since support crew was usually tending to them in the evening but they were all strapped in and ready to head back to Texas.”
