This month Aprilia dealers around the U.S. will be taking delivery of the 2015 Tuono V4 R aPRC ABS, the latest iteration of the legendary liter-class naked sportbike. Based on the World Superbike Championship winning RSV4, the latest Tuono delivers even more power thanks to a new exhaust system.

A slew of updates were added for 2014, including Racing ABS (three maps + off), Brembo M432 monobloc radial front calipers, a Sachs fork with one-by-one separated hydraulic adjustments, a comfort-oriented suspension setting, the latest generation of the aPRC electronics package, a larger fuel tank (+0.4 gallon) that was reshaped for improved ergonomics, and a more comfortable seat. For 2015, a re-engineered internal exhaust system boosts claimed output to 170 horsepower (a gain of 3 horsepower) and 83 lb-ft of torque.

The compact, slender machine is powered by a liquid-cooled, 1,000cc 65-degree V-4 with DOHC and four valves per cylinder, carried in an aluminum frame. Track, Sport and Road riding modes allow the rider to adapt engine response to conditions or preference. The Aprilia Performance Ride Control (aPRC) “dynamic control system” includes 8-level traction control, 3-level wheelie control, launch control and a quick shifter.
