'The Meet' Vintage Motorcycle Festival to Expand in 2014

The 3rd annual vintage motorcycle show known as The Meet will be held August 22-24, 2014, at America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, Washington.

This year, Event Chairman Burt Richmond has expanded the August 23 show beyond the 3½ acre show field onto an adjacent 3-acre paved lot that will be used for Swap Meet and Demo rides for Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Moto Guzzi and Triumph. A portion of the Tacoma Dome “A” Lot will be reserved for free parking for all attendees who arrive via motorcycle. Due to the national success of the 2013 Meet, which attracted over 325 unique and unusual vintage motorcycles from the early 1900s through 1980, the Haub Family Showfield has been increased to accommodate 475 motorcycles in 2014.

For the first time bike entrants will not be charged for any motorcycles entered in the Judged Concours. However, there is a General Admission fee of $20 per person, which includes unlimited motorcycle entries, and access to the four-floor, 165,000 sq. ft. LeMay—America’s Car Museum. Last August, 4,550 enthusiasts came from 22 states and 2 Canadian provinces to enjoy the show, visit vendors, see new motorcycles at dealer displays and attend performance and tuning seminars.
