Unveiling at American Honda's Secret Museum

Last night Editor Mark Tuttle and I attended an unveiling at America Honda’s secret museum, located in a nondescript warehouse building not far from the company’s sprawling campus in Torrance, California. Neither of us had ever been there, and I didn’t even know it existed until the invitation arrived. There’s no sign out front, no indication that a collection of several dozen Hondas and Acuras–everyday automobiles, scuffed and battered race cars, high-tech concept cars and a small, but significant selection of motorcycles–are housed inside, along with trophies, engines, framed advertisements and a replica facade of American Honda’s first storefront office, on Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles. The museum isn’t open to the public, and there are no immediate plans to provide greater access to the collection.

We can’t yet reveal what was unveiled–check back on Monday for an update–but we can give you a sneak peek at what else is inside Honda’s hush-hush museum.
